This morning, I decided to take a later train to work. When I got to the station, I realised that the trains were delayed by about 20 minutes.

Because of the delay, the station was getting busier as more passengers arrived to catch their trains. But there was one thing I was sure of: everyone knew their destination.

There is no way you leave your house early in the morning, pay for an expensive train ticket, come into the station, and not know where you are going. Especially when train tickets to London are not cheap!

As announcements were made, passengers stood up, checked the board, noted when their train would arrive, and moved closer to the platform. Others stayed behind, waiting for an announcement concerning their particular train.

When mine arrived, I stood up, got on, and left.

And it got me thinking…

Do you know where you are going in life? And if you do, are you doing everything possible to get there?

There will always be distractions. There will always be delays, unexpected changes, and disruptions along the way. But when you know where you are going, you don’t allow the delay to make you forget the destination.

Your eyes remain on the prize.

My train was delayed by 20 minutes, but I kept checking the board. I knew that if the delay was more than 15 minutes, I could claim some money back. As long as the train wasn’t cancelled, I knew I would eventually get to my destination.

So, what is your excuse?

Don’t cancel the journey just because there is a delay.

Keep checking the direction you wrote down. Keep reminding yourself where you are going. Keep imagining what the end result will look like.

Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.”

‭‭Habakkuk‬ ‭2‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

And remember:

Delays don’t mean denial.

Stay focused. Keep moving. Keep believing.

As long as you don’t give up, you will eventually get to your destination. ❤️
