It’s that time of year again. Christmas is approaching, and before long, the lights, decorations and festive jumpers will be everywhere.
Families and businesses begin preparing early because it helps them avoid the last-minute rush. We head to the shops—even when the lights and tree are already tucked away in the shed—because there’s always something else to buy.
Christmas adverts appear on buses, trains and just about everywhere else. It’s hard to escape them because the whole season is centred around Christmas.
Before you know it, you’re making plans: choosing what to wear, deciding where to spend Christmas and who to visit, inviting guests, and buying hampers, gifts and decorations.
Remember aside the festive activities, Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus.
“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 9:6 NKJV
But how well are you preparing for the new season God has shown you?
If Christmas turkey is part of your menu on the day, you know you need to order it or shop early. Leave it too late, and the one you want may be gone—you might have to settle for whatever is left. I learned that the hard way once! 🙈
So, are you treating the new season as business as usual, or are you praying and preparing for it—removing anything that stands against what God has shown you?
Never enter a new season carelessly. Prepare in advance. Then, when it arrives, you can move forward with confidence, knowing God has gone ahead and made provision for what you need.
Preparation also helps you recognise the season when it comes. Just as a woman who is trusting God for a child, will notice the changes in her body before anyone else does (the early sign of pregnancy) she recognises it because She asked God and He has confirmed to her that she will carry her own, and from that moment preparing begins for the baby in faith, planning, buying baby items ahead and looking forward to the big day.
Don’t be casual. Be prepared. It’s your new season 💃
God bless you
